AS the story continues...
I can't pronounce that?!? So I'll just spell it out... AYE ESS the story continues... So says the TTS engine.
For some reason there are certain times during the TTS reading where the engine does not actually say a word but will spell it out. It seems to usually happen with words that are in ALL CAPS. But there are full sentences of text that are in ALL CAPS for whatever reason in the stories (like simulating a telegram or news headline) and it has no problem with those. But every once in a while it chokes on small, simple, single word ALL CAPS instances.
Why? I dunno.
It's something I've come to live with, even though it is fairly jarring anytime it happens. I will keep looking into and experimenting with what the problem might be.
But that won't keep us from the next Chapter of THE CHOLERA KING!
